Awarded to a Live2D-powered commercial title that most inspired creators, as voted on by the creators themselves.

What are the Live2D Creative Awards?

The Live2D Creative Awards is an annual contest to celebrate and select the best original Live2D works of the year.

Creators put their skills and creativity to the test, pushing the boundaries and potential of artistic expression through Live2D.

Entries can include Live2D works of all genres and formats, including videos, games, characters/avatars, interfaces and more.

We look forward to another year of seeing everyone’s amazing works of passion and technical skill.

Grand Prize: 1 Winner300,000 yen & trophy

The stand-out work of the contest.

Video Expression Award: 1 Winner100,000 yen & trophy

The work best showing visual beauty through animations and new techniques for expression.

Interactive Award (Games / Applications): 1 Winner100,000 yen & trophy

The work that best exemplifies user interaction and experience with Live2D.

Interactive Award (AI / Talk interfaces): 1 Winner100,000 yen & trophy

The work that best shows the potential of Live2D as an interactive interface for AI / conversational engines (can include artistic works, demos, etc.)

Live2D Model Award: 1 Winner100,000 yen & trophy

The work that best displays a high range of motion and/or an outstanding design.

An outstanding work from any Live2D genre or format.

How to Enter

Entry Period

June 14, 2024 (Fri) (JST) – September 30, 2024 (Mon) (JST). 11:59PM (JST) *Strict deadline

Participation

Enter by uploading an original work to YouTube, Twitter or Bilibili, and completing the necessary items on the entry form.

Entry requirements

  • Entries must be no longer than 5 minutes.
  • Entries must be live and publicly viewable on the Internet from the date of entry through the end of January 2025.
  • The designated hashtag “#Live2DCreativeAwards11” must be added when submitting entry.

Standards for judging

  • Does the work communicate the characteristic and potential of Live2D or 2D works?
  • Is the quality of the Live2D animation at a high level?

Entry Qualifications and Conditions

  • Both amateurs and professionals can enter.
  • There is no age, nationality, or occupation requirement.
  • There is no requirement to have won a past award.
  • Multiple or group entries are accepted.
  • Multiple entries are accepted.
  • Corporate entries are not accepted.
  • Entries from users with business experience with Live2D Inc. are accepted. However, entries from users involved in the preparation, judging and administration of this contest are not accepted.
  • Entries from Live2D employees or their family members (spouses and first-degree relatives) are not accepted.
  • If an entrant is a minor, a parental authority must first give consent to these terms and conditions before they can enter. For any entries submitted by a minor, the consent of a parental authority will be deemed to have been obtained beforehand.

Disqualification and Forfeiture

Live2D Inc. may disqualify or forfeit any entry without any prior notice if it is determined that an entry for the Contest or conduct of an entrant:

  • involves creation and entry when remuneration from a third party was received for it,
  • invades or may invade rights of any third party,
  • defames or may defame the rights or privacy of any third party,
  • causes or may cause harms to a computer or network,
  • is or may be unlawful under the social conventions,
  • is or may be illegal,
  • is or may be interfering the operation of this competition,
  • that uses a feature or information that has been obtained through involvement in the development and/or promotion of Live2D Inc. products and technologies, that is not available to the public as of the start of the contest,
  • uses illustrations that were created using image generation AI or similar technologies, or features content involving use of such illustrations (hereinafter referred to as “content containing image generation AI”) in all or part of the production process. This includes any content created through the modification of image generation AI. However, the following exemptions do not fall under the category of “content containing image generation AI”:
    • Content created using a function in the paint tool that assists in the creation process, such as automatic coloring, background extension etc. for objects that exist in the original image.
    • Content created using Live2D production assistance features in “Live2D Cubism Editor”
  • contains false information provided at the time of entry, or is deemed to not contain sufficient information,
  • damages the reputation or credibility of Live2D Inc., the Contest, or anyone involved in the Contest,
  • is deemed unsuitable for the Contest by Live2D Inc.

Where can I access the Entry Terms and Conditions?

I’m not sure about the usage rights of the materials used in my work. Can I submit my work anyway?
No. We will not accept entries with works that are not free of suspected rights infringements, including copyrights.
See Article 4, “Entries,” in the Entry Terms and Conditions.
Can I submit my work to both the Live2D Creative Awards and nizicon?
Yes.
Those also interested in entering contests other than nizicon are required to ensure there are no violations to the entry conditions of each contest before entering.

Is it possible to submit works created by more than one person?
Yes.
There is no limit to the number of creators for a work.
Are works created by a group of students and non-students eligible for the Student Award?
No, such works will not be eligible.
The Student Award is reserved for works made only by students.
Can I submit a work that was created as a project for others?
No, entrants may not submit any work for which you have received remuneration from a third party to create.
Can I submit more than one work?
Yes.
There is no limit to the number of works that can be submitted.
Also, if you are submitting multiple works, please submit one entry for each work. Please do not include information for multiple works in a single entry.
The illustration and Live2D production were done by different creators. Which name should be registered as the handle name?
For the “Handle Name” in the entry form, use any handle name, group name, or other name that you would like published for your work.
How can I edit or change the information on an entry form that has already been submitted?
You will need to submit a new entry form with the correct information.
To notify us that this is a resubmitted form, please indicate so in the Comments section.
Will I receive a notification upon entering the contest?
An email will be sent to the email address provided in the entry form.
If you have not received a notification, check your Junk email folder. If you still have not received a notification, please resubmit your entry form.
Contest winners will be contacted by email, so please be sure to enter an email address that we can use to contact you if you are selected as a winner.
Can I submit a work that contains materials/assets obtained from a material/asset website?
Yes, such works can be submitted.
Any works that include usage of materials/assets that are sold or freely distributed are also eligible for submission.
Please describe in the “If your work includes usage of materials/assets that are sold or freely distributed” section of the entry form what materials/assets were used in which parts of the work.
* Please be sure to refer to the Terms of Use for the service(s) providing the material/asset regarding their permitted usage.
Are works that include usage of materials/assets obtained from material/asset sites still eligible for the “Student Award”?
Yes, such works are still eligible for the “Student Award”.
Any works that include usage of materials/assets that are widely sold or freely distributed are still eligible for submission for the “Student Award”.
